The landscape of the NBA was dramatically altered this offseason as super teams shifted to dynamic duos. "NBA 2K20" puts those duos on display along with other superstars in a brand new trailer for the game, which is set to be released Sept. 6.
MORE: "NBA 2K20" player ratings revealed ahead of release date
The official player ratings for launch were recently unveiled, and the Lakers' duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis (average of 95.5) barely edged out the Clippers' combo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George (average of 95). The star pairings for the Nets, Rockets and Warriors aren't far behind, although Brooklyn (Kevin Durant) and Golden State (Klay Thompson) will be dealing with significant injuries next season. Top pick Zion Williamson will start at 81 Overall for the Pelicans.
While the new trailer is full of mostly flash and little substance, there has been some genuine news related to "NBA 2K20" in recent weeks. Considerable upgrades are coming to one of the series' franchise modes and a demo providing an opportunity to start MyCareer mode (which will have progress carry over when the full game is purchased) will be released on Aug. 21. The soundtrack has also been revealed through a Spotify playlist.
