Despite the release of "NBA 2K19" being only a month away, very little about is known about the new features and improvements. The only details revealed so far have to do with the series' two franchise modes, MyGM and MyLeague, which are getting extensive additions to expand on what was already an area of considerable strength.
Even though it's only the 19th year of the series, this release is being celebrated as the 20th Anniversary, with James featured on the cover of the more expensive $100 edition that will be available Sept. 7. The standard edition with Giannis Antetokounmpo on the cover will sell for the regular $60 when it releases four days later on Sept. 11.
Microsoft will also be selling console bundles that include "NBA 2K19" for the Xbox One X ($500) and Xbox One S ($300). An early opportunity with the game will come on Aug. 31 with the release of "The Prelude," which provides a jump start with the game's story mode.
