Michael Porter Jr. enters the 2024 NBA Playoffs as the third-leading scorer for the defending champion Nuggets.
Porter, 25, helped Denver hoist the first NBA championship trophy in franchise history in 2023, and he's back as the team aims to repeat in 2024. The Nuggets hold the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, and they'll face the No. 7 seed Lakers in the first round.
During his collegiate career, Porter was a teammate of his younger brother Jontay at Missouri before the elder brother was selected by Denver with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
While Michael is making a push for another NBA title in 2024, Jontay grabbed headlines of his own for his involvement in a sports betting scandal. Jontay Porter, who played as a backup center for the Raptors, received a lifetime ban from the NBA on April 17.
Here's what you need to know about the entire Porter family — from parents Michael Sr. and Lisa, to their eight children, five sons and three daughters.

Parents
Michael Sr. and Lisa Porter
Both of the Porter parents played basketball at the collegiate level.
Lisa was a star at the University of Iowa from 1983-87. She earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors and helped the Hawkeyes earn their first conference title and NCAA Tournament appearance.
Michael Sr. played at the University of New Orleans from 1986-89. He coached at the University of Washington before taking on his current role as the director of player development at the University of Missouri.
Brothers
Jontay Porter: Jontay's brief NBA career came to an end on April 17, as he was banned for sports betting violations.
Per the league investigation, Jontay Porter, 24, disclosed confidential information to bettors and limited his participation in at least one game to influence prop bets during the 2023-24 season. He also bet on NBA games.
Michael Porter Jr. offered a statement in support of his younger brother when the allegations against him first came to light.
"I've known my brother my whole life," he said. "I know what type of dude he is and I know he's excited to play basketball, and I highly doubt he would do anything to put that in jeopardy."

In February 2024, he pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide in a DUI crash that killed a 42-year-old woman.
On April 19, Steve Staeger reporter Coban had been sentenced to eight years in prison, though he will serve only six years as the two years for injuring the passenger in the car and six years for the death of the driver will run concurrently.
Jevon Porter: Jevon, 20, is another younger brother of Michael. Jevon just finished his second season playing basketball at Pepperdine, where he averaged 16.2 points per game as a sophomore. He is currently in the college basketball transfer portal.
On April 27, Jevon was arrested on suspicion of DWI in Missouri.
Izaak Porter: Izaak is the youngest brother in the Porter family. He graduated from Father Tolton's Catholic High School in Missouri in 2023, where he played basketball and football.
Sisters
Bri and Cierra Porter: Bri and Cierra are Jontay and Michael's older sisters. They were college basketball teammates at the University of Missouri, just like their younger brothers.
Bri played at Mizzou for two seasons from 2014-16 before a fifth ACL injury ended her college career.
Cierra played four seasons at Mizzou, earning SEC All-Freshman honors in 2016 and SEC Sixth Woman of the Year in 2019. She averaged 10.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game for her career.
Jayda Porter: Jayda is the youngest Porter sibling. She is a sophomore at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri, where she is ranked as one of the best girls' basketball prospects in the country for the class of 2026.
