Metta World Peace is sorry for what Ron Artest did nearly 12 years ago that sparked an all-out brawl between players, coaches and fans at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Dubbed "The Malice at the Palace," then-Pacers player Ron Artest attacked a Pistons fan, who threw a drink on him while he was sitting on the scorer's table after a fight broke out on the court with under a minute left in a game in 2004.
I wish I had a rewind button on my life. Instead of running in the stands in Detroit , I woulda shoulder twerk backwards to the locker room

Here's footage from the fight that resulted in suspensions for nine players for a total of 146 games.

World Peace currently plays for the Lakers although he rarely sees the court. Most of his impact in L.A. comes in the form of activism, although he recently poked fun at the Malice at the Palace when tweeting about things he would do if he became President.
#ifmettawaspresident , I would have my secretary of defense be Ben Wallace.

Wallace fouled Artest hard at the end of the game, setting off the first fight between Pistons and Pacers players on the court.
