It's hardly similar to GOP icon Ronald Reagan beseeching Mikhail Gorbachev, but in fairness to Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, this wall hasn't even been built.
Still, after the NBA announced Tuesday that Cuban's Mavs will play the Suns on Jan. 12 in Mexico City, marking only the second NBA regular-season game in Latin America, he couldn't resist a not-so-subtle metaphorical comment.
“We are thrilled to be playing in Mexico City. It’s great for the Mavs, the NBA and a great way to tear down walls and barriers between our countries.”

Cuban is alluding to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign vow to build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico.
The Spurs will follow the Mavericks into Mexico to take on the Suns on Jan. 14, also at Mexico City Arena.
Interesting timing.
The following week, on Jan. 20, either Trump or presumptive Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton will be inaugurated as president of the United States.
