Luka Doncic's 33-point, 13-rebound double-double was not enough to push the Mavericks to victory against the Kawhi Leonard-less Clippers in Game 1 of their first-round series.
Paul George, James Harden and Ivica Zubac combined to score 70 of the Clippers' 109 points, with Zubac also grabbing 15 rebounds in 33 minutes. Los Angeles was on fire from deep, hitting 18 of its 36 3-point attempts on its way to a 1-0 series lead.
The Mavericks, meanwhile, had an anemic offensive showing, shooting 38.8 percent from the field. Doncic and Kyrie Irving scored 64 of Dallas' 97 points, but P.J. Washington (11 points) was their only teammate that managed to hit double-digits.
Doncic and Irving will need more help if the Mavericks want to steal a game on the road before heading back to Dallas.
