Marcus and Markieff Morris are now facing a civil lawsuit in addition to criminal charges already filed against them in connection with an alleged assault last year.
Erik Hood has accused the twins, then playing for the Suns, and three other men of beating him up outside a Phoenix gymnasium on Jan. 24, 2015. The Morris brothers were charged with felony aggravated assault in April 2015 and have pleaded not guilty, with the next hearing in the ongoing case scheduled for Nov. 4.

Now the pair will also have to deal with Hood's civil suit, which the Arizona Republic reports was filed Wednesday in Maricopa County Superior Court. The 36-year-old is suing them and alleged accomplices Julius Kane, Christopher Melendez and Gerald Bowman for conspiracy, assault and battery. Hood is seeking compensation for pain and suffering in addition to punitive damages.
Hood told police the five men chased him down outside the gym and the Morris twins kicked and stomped him while the others held him down.
The Suns traded both Morrises last year — Markieff to the Wizards in February and Marcus to the Pistons in July.
