Playing basketball was the furthest thing from Manu Ginobili's mind after he suffered a nasty groin injury last month.
The Spurs guard expects to return to the team next week after spending a month recovering from testicular surgery necessitated by a Feb. 3 injury against New Orleans.

“For a week I didn't care about playing,” Ginobili told reporters Wednesday before the team’s game against the Pistons (via MySanAntonio.com). “I was struggling, I was in pain and I didn't care. But you know how the human mind works and after two weeks or three weeks I started to run and feel good, and feeling more confident.”
The veteran suffered the injury after being kneed in the groin by Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson. It required immediate surgery. Ginobili said his doctors never treated an athlete with his condition before.
Ginobili is averaging 10 points per game on 45 percent shooting this season.
