Malcolm Brogdon injury update: Bucks guard (foot) 'progressing' toward return image

The Bucks are hopeful they’ll have Malcolm Brogdon on the court at some point in the next round.

The 26-year-old guard, who is recovering from a foot injury, has yet to participate in scrimmages, coach Mike Budenholzer told reporters Monday. But, Brogdon is "progressing as he should" and the team is still hopeful he’ll be able to play sometime during the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Budenholzer said there would be a clearer timeline for Brogdon’s return within the next three to five days.

Brogdon suffered a minor plantar fascia tear in his right foot in mid-March. He was originally expected to miss six to eight weeks.

“The injury is minor,” Brogdon said in early April, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “I’ll come back and be full speed. The team is better this year, so they can hold it down while I’m gone. I just want to get back in time so when we play a tough opponent I can help in the playoffs.”

Brogdon averaged 15.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 28.6 minutes per game during the regular season. He shot 50.5 percent from the field and 42.6 percent from 3-point range.

The Bucks have taken a commanding 3-0 lead over the Pistons in their opening-round playoff series. They’ll have a chance to close it out Monday in Game 4 in Detroit.

The winner of the series will advance to face the Celtics in the second round. Boston completed a sweep of the Pacers last weekend.
