A win would give the reigning NBA champs a 16-0 record, breaking a tie with the 1948-49 Washington Capitols and the 1993-94 Rockets for the best start to an NBA season.
Johnson, who won five NBA titles with the Lakers, remains a supporter of the franchise, but with the team owning a 2-11 record, he is not blinded by his loyalty.
