Los Angeles Lakers' Role Players Deemed to Have Little to No Value image

Reports have come out that the reason the Los Angeles Lakers have not made any trades this offseason is because most teams believe that the Lakers’ role players hold little to no trade value. Some teams were interested in one player from this list, but not multiple, leading to the Lakers not being able to trade multiple for a star. Some players listed were guards D’Angelo Russell and Gabe Vincent, and forwards Jared Vanderbilt and Rui Hachimura.

D’Angelo Russell did ok in the regular season, averaging 18 points per game, but his past two playoff performances in the 2024 first round and 2023 Western Conference Finals were abysmal, hurting his value. Gabe Vincent, who was a star in the 2023 playoffs for the Miami Heat, only averaged three points this year. As for Vanderbilt, his presence is only felt on the defensive end. Hachimura probably has the most value of the four, but he is still just a high-end role player.

The Lakers need to get lucky soon with free agent signings and hope their rookies in Bronny James and Dalton Knecht bloom early on, since trades seem to be out of the equation.
