Lindsay Lohan's relationship with Currys, explained: How movie star is linked to Stephen and Ayesha image

Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has scored 60 points twice in his career. The first was a virtuoso performance in front of his home fans and the second was an iconic performance in Atlanta that ended with him gifting his jersey to another icon, Lindsay Lohan.

While there's no question that Curry's greatness transcends sport, many were surprised to learn that he was friends with Lohan and her husband, Bader Shammas. Things began to make more sense when the world learned that Curry's wife, Ayesha, and Lohan were set to co-star in Netflix's original movie, Irish Wish.

As it turns out, there was a deep friendship that preceded the working relationship with Ayesha Curry and Lohan, who almost immediately became best friends after meeting in Dubai.

Ahead of their cinematic debut together, learn more about the friendship between Lohan and Ayesha Curry that has connected two powerful couples in the worlds of sports and entertainment.

Lindsay Lohan's relationship with Stephen and Ayesha Curry, explained

Lohan and Ayesha Curry forged a friendship through a mutual connection. Lohan explained how things came about in an interview with PEOPLE.

“We met through a mutual friend, chef Michael Mina, who said to my husband, ‘Lindsay and Ayesha need to meet. So then Ayesha was coming to Dubai and we met at the restaurant Mina.”

Both Ayesha Curry and Lohan explained that the two instantly connected, losing track of time as they bonded over dinner.

“It was just wild meeting somebody that I got along with so well, and we had so many common interests right away, so it was cool," Curry said of the formation of her friendship with Lohan.

With Ayesha Curry and Lohan quickly becoming friends, it did not take long for Stephen Curry to become close with Shammas. Lohan and Shammas asked the Currys to be the godparents of their son, Luai, who was born in July 2023.

When Stephen Curry gifted his game-worn jersey to Lohan and Shammas in Atlanta, he penned a message to Luai that read, "Your godparents love you!" along with his autograph.

As their friendship blossomed into what it is today, Lohan had a big hand in getting Ayesha Curry back into acting with the role in Irish Wish. Before marrying Stephen Curry, Ayesha notably acted in episodes of Disney's Hannah Montana and Good Luck Charlie.

If the on-camera chemistry between Ayesha Curry and Lohan is as magnetic as their friendship would suggest, Irish Wish could be the first of many times they share the screen.
