CLEVELAND — LeBron James will not play in the Cavaliers' exhibition game against Milwaukee.

With Cleveland scheduled for three preseason games in four days, coach David Blatt wants to rest his superstar Tuesday night. James is not injured and Blatt says this is "just part of our process and part of our management of how we want to approach preseason and best get him ready for the start of the season."

James has been bothered by a stiff back early in training camp.

Blatt says James will play Wednesday when the Cavs face Indiana in Cincinnati.

Cavs guard Kyrie Irving is also out against the Bucks while he recovers from a sprained ankle. Forward Tristan Thompson is a game-time decision because of a sore shoulder that is not believed to be a serious injury.
