LeBron James has been in the national spotlight pretty much since he started sprouting chin hair, so he knows a thing or two about the downside to fame.

As such, when James' his playing days have ended, don’t count on him being a coach.

"Man, I couldn't be a head coach," James said, via Cleveland.com. "Boy, I'll get blamed for every little thing. Can you imagine that? Please."

Ironically, many people blame James for the firing of his former coach, David Blatt. Blatt was let go last month despite leading the Cavs to the NBA Finals last season and the Eastern Conference’s top record this season. James has repeatedly said he wasn't consulted on the decision, but that hasn't stopped fingers from pointing.

James doesn’t mind being an on-the-court coach and mentor to his teammates, but that’s about as close as he thinks he’ll get.

"I'm happy to be one of the leaders of this team, of this franchise," James said, "and we're going to go out and try to win every game and be great citizens off the floor and role models to these young kids that's looking up to us. All that other stuff, that stuff doesn't mean anything."

Of course, James is just 31, and could just as easily change his mind some day.
