Under the bright lights of Madison Square Garden, the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks put on a show as the purple and gold secured a 129-123 victory in an overtime thriller.
LeBron James led the charge, recording his first triple-double of the season with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists, rewriting the record books in the process as he climbed past Mark Jackson and Steve Nash to now sit fourth all-time in assists. He is also now just 89 points away from breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's all-time scoring record.
Anthony Davis added 27 points and nine rebounds, while Russell Westbrook finished with 17 points, eight assists, six rebounds, and three steals off the bench as the Lakers improve to 24-28 on the season.
Jalen Brunson was the star man for New York with a game-high 37 points, six assists, and two rebounds.
