The Lakers fired coach Byron Scott, which means they are in search of a new leader. There are plenty of candidates available, but maybe they should look within for their 26th coach.

There hasn't been a player-coach since 1979 and the NBA has outlawed it since instituting a salary cap in the 1984-85 season, but maybe they should make an exception for Nick Young. The Lakers guard recently tweeted his interest in the position.

The thought of having Swaggy P as the Lakers' coach has us giddy, so we thought of some things that might happen if it was possible.

1) Trade D'Angelo Russell

I would say Young should straight up release him, but he's willing to allow some logic in this decision. After the phone recording incident, Young isn't able to trust himself around the youngster anymore, so he gets as much value for him as he can in order to move on.

2) Make everyone on the team wear Yeezy Boosts

Young wore Yeezy 750 Boosts during a game last season, which aren't exactly basketball shoes. As SB Nation put it, they are "basically just socks with soles on them." But Young feels a connection with Kanye West and his adidas brand, so he'll make this mandatory as head coach.

3) Draw up plays for himself

Swaggy P gets buckets: everyone knows this. So it's only right for the coach of the team — himself — to realize the potential of the best player on the team — himself. Also, having Young put himself on the court to allow his swag to rub off on everyone means at some point he'll tell the media he played himself.

4) Put himself in position for more awards

Last season, Young set out for some lofty goals. He wanted to win MVP, 6th man, most improved and defensive player of the year awards. He was "robbed" of those awards, but maybe he'll have more success as a coach. Also, he'll be a candidate for Coach of the Year, which he will most obviously win if this was possible.

5) Bring Kanye on as Team Ambassador

As previously mentioned, West and Young have a connection through adidas, and the rapper has an affection for Swaggy considering he's name-dropped him in songs. We also know 'Ye is a Lakers supporter as he was in attendance for Kobe Bryant's final game.

Since Drake is an ambassador for the Raptors, it only seems fair that West comes in as well. But he can only hold the position for a few more years before he becomes our nation's president in 2020.
