The return of Ja Morant wasn't enough to get the Grizzlies a win in Game 3, as the Lakers secured a home victory to take a 2-1 series lead.
Morant was brilliant in his first game back from a right hand injury suffered in Game 1, dropping 45 points to lead all scorers. But he got little help from his teammates as a brutal first quarter ended with Memphis trailing 35-9. The Grizzlies fought back to close the gap to just ten points in the final minutes, but it was too little too late.
After engaging in a public war of words with LeBron James before the game, Memphis' Dillon Brooks was ejected early in the first half after hitting James in the groin. Luckily for him, he avoided a suspension for the incident and will be back in the lineup for Game 4.

James didn't let the trash talk bother him. He and Anthony Davis led the way for the Lakers, combining for 56 points and 26 rebounds. The win put L.A. in the driver's seat for the rest of the series, and another home victory on Monday night would give them a chance to eliminate the Western Conference's No. 2 seed in Game 5.
