The Lakers confirmed Thursday that forward Kyle Kuzma is dealing with a stress reaction in his left foot and is out indefinitely.
The team issued a release that Kuzma has not been cleared for full practice or game participation.
Kuzma is scheduled to undergo an MRI when the Lakers returns from China, where it is playing a pair of NBA China exhibition games against the Nets, Oct. 10 and Oct. 12.

The third-year player suffered the injury while playing with Team USA in the recent World Cup. A New York Times report earlier this week said Kuzma was progressing "slower than hoped" from the injury, and there were fears he might not be ready for the start of training camp Saturday. The Lakers media release simply noted that the 24-year-old forward is "progressing with his rehabilitation."
Kuzma averaged 18.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last season.
