Kristaps Porzingis puts on show for crying Knicks fan from NBA Draft image

On Sunday night, Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis once again proved that he is far from a bust.

If you remember correctly, the Latvian big man was panned on draft night by pundits and fans alike. The Knicks were making a huge mistake, they said. He's the next Darko Milicic.

There was the lasting image of a youthful Knicks fan crying into his glasses when the pick was made official.

But in just a few short months, Porzingis has turned Knicks fans on their heads, and the same little boy who was sobbing on draft night is now smiling ear to ear, especially on Sunday when he met with Porzingis before the afternoon tip against the Bucks.

According to the various Instagram photos, Porzingis' older brother helped set up the meeting.

Once the ball was tipped, Porzingis once again wowed the basketball world, this time putting back a reverse tip-dunk and banking in a 30-foot 3-pointer to beat the shot clock.

He may not win the Rookie of the Year award, but there is no doubt Porzingis is the most popular rookie in the league.

What were once tears of sadness are now tears of joy.
