No dunks for you: Kobe Bryant out with tweaked shoulder image

The Kobe Bryant farewell tour was put on hold Saturday, possibly because of a dunk.

Bryant, 37, sat out the Lakers' 118-78 loss Saturday to the Thunder because of discomfort in his right shoulder. He said the setback is only temporary.

"It's just something that needs a couple days," Bryant said via the Los Angeles Times, adding that he hopes to be ready for Tuesday's game in Denver.

Bryant sustained a torn rotator cuff in the same shoulder after a dunk in January that ended his 2014-15 season. Bryant said his first dunk this season — Thursday against the Rockets — may have been a contributing factor to his needing to sit out two days later.

"I'm sure it didn't help," he said. "It was [bothering] me before then."

Bryant said he didn't plan to see a doctor about the shoulder, opting instead to let it rest for a few days. Saturday marked the fourth game he has missed in his final season.
