Every time Kobe Bryant comes back from an injury, he seems even more determined to be the most Kobe Bryant version of Kobe Bryant that he can be.

Take this play from Sunday's Lakers-Jazz preseason game in Honolulu:

Now, preseason is preseason, and it doesn't mean anything. Also, it was the end of the first quarter, and Bryant probably knew that it also was the end of his night. He played all 12 minutes of the first quarter, then sat the rest of the game with five points on 1-for-5 shooting in his first game since Jan. 21.

The Lakers lost 90-71.

But it's good to know that some things don't change and that no matter whether he's dealing with a torn Achilles tendon, broken knee or injured shoulder, Kobe Bryant will be Kobe Bryant.
