As part of his effort to fully recover for the 2014-15 season, Kobe Bryant worked out with Nick "Swaggy P" Young, not the other way around. At Lakers media day, Young wanted to make sure all those on hand were aware of that.

"It was a big summer for me," Young said. "Kobe worked out with me. I didn't work out with him. He came to me... I was showing Kobe the ropes this summer."

Keep in mind that Kobe, one of the best players of all-time, will enter into his 19th NBA season with career averages of 25.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists. Young has played a total of seven seasons with career averages of 12.2 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists. Regardless of those facts, Young said he offered guidance to Bryant.

"I was just breaking down plays and ways he could score in offenses and stuff," Young said.

Bryant isn't the only player Young has taken under his wing. Young has given new Lakers Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle their rookie duties.

"Jordan Clarkson gotta call me Daddy Swag," Young said. "He gotta refer to me as that. And Julius gotta call me Uncle Swag, because it's a family affair here and it's part of their rookie duties."

Young was asked if that mean's Kobe has the "Grandpa Swag" title, and Young responded, "He's got to."
