“If making history was easy, why bother?” Green said Bryant texted him after Game 4.

Bryant’s text, of course, alludes to the fact the Warriors are one loss from being eliminated from the Western Conference finals.

DeCOURCY: Magic greatest Laker ever, even if he won't say so

Green can probably use all the encouragement he could get. He scored just 12 points in the Warriors’ back-to-back losses — their first consecutive losses of the season. His team was blown out in both games, and he has been a lightning rod for his on-court antics and flagrant fouls this series.

“You can’t win without a high level of energy, and that’s what I bring to this team, and I haven’t been that,” Green said, via The Washington Post. “I have to be better as a leader of this team, and I’ve got to be a leader. … I was f—ing awful.”
