The Knicks have parted ways with David Fizdale, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Fizdale was fired less than 24 hours removed from a 37-point loss to the Nuggets at Madison Square Garden. He finishes his Knicks career with a 21-83 record. In his first season with New York, he coached to a 17-65 record, following that up with a 4-18 start to the 2019-20 campaign.
The news comes after weeks of speculation that the front office was planning Fizdale's exit, with other reports claiming the Knicks wanted to bring in Toronto's Masai Ujiri as their new leader in the front office.
New York has also dismissed assistant coach Keith Smart, per Wojnarowski.
The Knicks are currently last in the Eastern Conference, ahead of only the Warriors (4-19) in the overall league standings.
