The New York Knicks were not good for a long time.

That was until last year when the team closed out the 2020-21 campaign winning 16 of 20 games, which included a nine-game winning streak, the longest such streak in seven years and made the playoffs for the first time in eight seasons.

While they were bounced from the playoffs by the Hawks pretty quickly (4-1), the fanbase was ignited.

With expectations of returning to the NBA playoffs in 2021-22, fueled by a 'Bing Bong' rallying cry, the Knicks have been more or less average this season.

Winners of no more than three straight games and losers of no more than four straight games, the Knicks are 22-24 and 11th in the Eastern Conference.

It's unclear what type of team will show up for the Knicks on any given night sometimes, but facing a team ten-games under .500 would make any fan believing their chances of seeing a winning effort are good.

Those expectations didn't meet reality on Thursday night, however, when the Pelicans downed the Knicks at Madison Square Garden in a 102-91, low-scoring affair. Julius Randle, Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier combined for 15 points. It was an uninpired performance.

The game wasn't exactly unwatchable. But, it wasn't exactly worth watching, either.

That statement could never hold more true than seeing a Knicks fan ignoring the game to watch an episode of 'The Office', muted and without subtitles from his seat at MSG.

The epsiode appears to be from Season 6, called 'Secretary's Day.'

It's the one where Oscar circulates a video he made, which dubs Kevin's voice over footage of Cookie Monster. Michael takes Erin out to lunch and accidentally reveals that Andy used to be engaged to Angela. Then Erin later throws cake in Andy's face when he's singing her a song in front of everyone-- a classic!

Sound and subtitles are likely not necessary considering the 57 billion minutes of “The Office” consumed by Netflix users in 2020, according to Variety .

The Pelicans' win at Madison Square Garden marks the team's seventh win on the road this season, and Knicks' third consecutive loss at home. New York previously suffered a 112-110 loss to the Timberwolves on Tuesday and a 97-87 loss to the Hornets on Monday, Jan. 17.

The Knicks will host the Clippers for their next matchup at Madison Square Garden on Sunday night. New York will look to break the three-game losing streak against Los Angeles, who are coming off a 130-128 overtime loss to the Nuggets.

Maybe 'Scott's Tots' will be on next game.
