The Knicks are hoping to have a busy offseason.

New York will have enough cap space to sign two max players and both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant have been linked to the team. Knicks coach David Fizdale revealed his pitch to upcoming free agents during an appearance Wednesday on the "Dan Patrick Show."

"(I’m going to) paint the picture from a coaching standpoint of what the Knicks are becoming," Fizdale said, via SNY. "And try to really make players understand the type of relationship I'm trying to build as a coach and the type of team I'm trying to build to ultimately win a title."

New York general manager Scott Perry said last month he’s confident the team can appeal to stars this summer.

“This is New York City," Perry told the New York Post. “It’s the greatest city in the world. There’s a lot of appeal here. Even though the team has struggled, it’s a definite attraction to becoming a player in this city who can help turn this organization around.

“I think that’s something that gives us excitement that it’s out there — the storied nature of this franchise and what the franchise meant to the NBA that still resonates.”

The Knicks recently finished one of their worst seasons in franchise history, tallying a 17-65 record, and have a 14% chance to land the top pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

“I think just for us, our roster is so open from that standpoint that we can have a lot of things fit us right now," Fizdale said about the team’s draft strategy. "Obviously, we always want the biggest talent. You want to see electric players.”

The NBA Draft lottery will be held May 14. The Knicks last made the playoffs in 2012-13.
