Offended by Draymond Green? Klay Thompson tells LeBron James the NBA is 'man's league' image

LeBron James got his wish Sunday when the NBA suspended Draymond Green for Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers after it was perceived Green tried to hit James in the groin.

After the incident, which occurred in the fourth quarter of Game 4, James got in Green's face. Green in turn called James a not-so-nice name. Then, James said after the game that he had a problem with Green's choice of words.

"Draymond just said something that I don't agree with. I'm all cool with the competition. I'm all fine with that, but some of the words that came out of his mouth were a little bit overboard," James said, via ESPN.com. "Being a guy with pride, a guy with three kids and a family, things of that nature, some things just go overboard, and that's where he took it, and that was it."

GENTILLE: Draymond Green needed to be suspended

But Warriors star Klay Thompson came to his teammate's defense Sunday by reminding James this is a "man's league," and he needs to just brush those kinds of things off.

"I'm just shocked some guys take it so personal," Thompson said, via USA Today Sports. "It's a man's league. I've heard a lot of bad things out there, but at the end of the day we're competitive people. I guess his (James) feelings just got hurt."

James decided to take the "high road" after learning what Thompson said about him.

"I'm not going to comment on what Klay said, because I know where it can go from this," James said, via Sports Illustrated. "It's hard to take the high road. I've been doing it for 13 years. It's hard to continue to do it, but I'm going to do it again."

We're not sure if whining about a play that could have been a non-issue, then forcing Green's teammates to come to his aid in the media after making the most of a comment said on the court, should be considered "taking the high road," but James did at least stop the feud before it went any further.

Meanwhile, Green will not be able to play in Game 5 as the Warriors try to lock up their second straight NBA championship.
