We're over 20 years removed from the legendary high school basketball matchup between St. Vincent-St. Mary's and Oak Hill Academy, where LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony went head-to-head on a national stage.
Those two have already played over two decades in the NBA, cementing their future Hall of Fame legacies, but their sons are just getting started.
On Monday, Dec. 12 at 11:30 p.m. ET, Bronny James and Kiyan Anthony will go head-to-head — just as their fathers did — when Sierra Canyon (CA) hosts Christ the King (NY) in Chatsworth, California.
The game will be televised on ESPN2 and can be streamed on ESPN+, giving the nation its first chance to see LeBron's kid and Melo's kid face off.
While Bronny is already a senior at Sierra Canyon, Kiyan is just a sophomore at Christ the King.
As a 15-year-old, Anthony's game is just beginning to develop, but let's take a look at how he's fared so far on the high school and AAU stage, as well as a check-in on his college recruitment.

High school
Anthony is only a sophomore at Christ the King, but the 15-year-old is already making his name known. The 6-3, 165-pound shooting guard is a four-star prospect, ranked as the 62nd best player in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports.
For years now, we've seen videos of Kiyan in the gym with his father, Carmelo, and well-renowned NBA trainer, Chris Brickley.

This past fall, Anthony competed in an Overtime Elite showcase, looking extremely comfortable against some top-tier 18-to-20-year-old prospects.
Kiyan went for 20 points, five rebounds and three steals, displaying his ability to create his own shot, beat his defenders off the dribble and knock down the 3-ball.

Anthony is entering his first high school season where he will receive varsity minutes, and the sophomore standout recently talked about his areas of improvement with 247Sports' Dushawn London heading into a big year.
“I want to show people how hard I’ve been working,” Anthony told 247Sports. “We have a lot of talent on the team so I want to show how we’ve all been in the gym practicing hard, getting each other better, and hopefully it pays off and we can win.

“Individually I’m working on my defense and rebounding the ball since I’m growing and getting longer. I want to be a shot-maker and a three-level scorer. I want to be able to go to the basket, shoot the midrange and hit the 3 throughout a game.”
Anthony's first major test will come on a national stage against Bronny James on Monday, Dec. 12.
College recruitment
Back in November, Anthony received an official offer from his father's alma mater, Syracuse.

In the same interview with 247Sports' London, Kiyan spoke on what the offer from Syracuse meant to him.
“I’ve been waiting for this offer for a while and it meant a lot just because my dad went there and won a National Championship there," Anthony said. "A lot of people were waiting for me to have this on my checklist. It means a lot to me to have a chance to continue the legacy.
“My dad tells me he loves the school and it’s like home to him. He says I’m only a sophomore and to keep my options open and explore all aspects.”
Syracuse joins a short-list of schools like Memphis, George Mason, Manhattan and Bryant who have already offered the son of a future Hall of Famer.
