The Thunder will be without Kevin Durant for at least a few more days, as the All-Star forward was held out of practice Thursday

Just over a week ago, head coach Scott Brooks told the media that he thought Durant would be ready in "1-2 weeks", but Oklahoma City is being cautious with last year's MVP.

"Experiencing a little bit of soreness," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said, per ESPN.com's Royce Young. "That's expected. We have some peaks and valleys, and we always have a cautious approach, so today he didn't do anything."

Oklahoma City is hanging on to the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference playoff picture, but currently have just a one-game cushion over the No. 9 Pelicans. The Thunder will need Durant back soon to help carry the load with Russell Westbrook — who has elevated his play to MVP levels in Durant's absence — heading down the stretch and into the postseason.

As for an exact timetable for Durant's return, Brooks said the Thunder don't have a specific one in mind at the moment.

"I don't know that yet," he said, according to Young. "But we'll definitely take, with all our players, with injuries, we'll always take the best interest of the player and always take a cautious approach."
