Heat forward Justise Winslow is set to undergo surgery on a torn labrum Thursday and will miss the remainder of the season, the team announced.

Winslow, 20, had not played since Dec. 30.

DEVENEY: These big men are available, if anyone wants them

The second-year pro was supposed to be a big part of the Heat's scoring attack this season after the team lost Chris Bosh to another blood clot. Unfortunately, Winslow was only able to play in 18 games this season while averaging 10.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

Winslow's best game of the season came Dec. 22 against the Lakers when he scored 23 points and hauled in 13 rebounds. His versatility will be sorely missed.

James Johnson will likely see extended minutes in Winslow's absence. Wayne Ellington could also see more time if the Heat (10-26 heading into Wednesday's game vs. the Kings) employ a three-guard set.
