J.R. Smith and ESPN's Stephen A. Smith have been exchanging words with one another over the weekend, and on Monday, the "First Take" talking head used his platform to explain himself further.

You can get all caught up on their previous exchanges here, and we'll pick up Monday on "First Take." Stephen A. Smith reiterated his thoughts on Twitter when he tried to say he wasn't talking about J.R. Smith, before eventually saying he was talking about J.R. Smith.

“J.R. Smith is wrong about this. I wasn’t talking about J.R. Smith. I was talking about Nike. Nike’s the one that made the hoodies. And I wasn’t talking about him wearing a hoodie during layup lines, layup drills or the warmup line, or whatever. I was talking specifically, since J.R. Smith wants to ignore this. I was talking specfically about the J.R. Smith that was on the bench cause he had only played three minutes in the fourth quarter of that opener against Boston, Max Kellerman. When he was sitting on the bench with his hoodie on looking like a sad puppy, because D-Wade was on the floor for eight of those 12 minutes as opposed to J.R. Smith. Who obviously, reportedly, was very upset at the fact that he was taken out of the starting lineup.”

Stephen A. continued to say he doesn't have a problem with hoodies, saying he too wears hoodies. But he was upset by the fact J.R. Smith was wearing it during the game, saying there is an "appearance of presentation that matters."

He then "apologized" to Smith, although he was more or less mocking the Cavs guard by listing off some numbers in his last three games.

J.R. Smith's response to Stephen A. Smith

J.R. Smith was likely waiting for Stephen A. to make a comment on his show, so as he was talking, the Cavs guard went on Twitter to express more thoughts.

Stephen A. Smith then had his own response on Twitter and said the statement would be his last on the issue.
