Stephen Curry may be the NBA’s unanimous MVP, but he wouldn’t get J.R. Smith’s vote.
The Cavaliers guard pledged his allegiance to his teammate LeBron James.

“Other than LeBron, I don’t really know who else to vote for,” Smith said Thursday when asked on who would be his pick for MVP, via USA Today. ”I mean, somebody who does everything for a team, whether it’s scoring, getting stops, rebounds, steals, blocked shots. There’s not more of a complete player, so I don’t see how he couldn’t be the most valuable.”
Even if he couldn’t vote for someone on his own team, he wouldn’t be voting for his opponent in the NBA Finals.

“If I couldn’t vote for somebody on my own team I’d probably vote for a guy like Russ (Westbrook). I mean, he’s energy, effort, consistently, got the total package. You've got to go for a guy like that.”
Smith, who scored 20 points in Cleveland’s Game 3 victory over Golden State, says Curry is in his “top five.”
“He’s very valuable to the team, to what they do. If you take him out of the equation I think they’re a totally different team, but I mean, he would definitely be in (Smith's top five). Absolutely.”
