Coach says Jimmer Fredette thinks 'everybody is stupid,' won't adjust to NBA game image

Remember Jimmer Fredette? If you do, its probably not for anything he’s done since he entered the NBA.

A former NBA assistant who worked with Fredette says the former BYU star has held back his own growth.

"Jimmer thinks everybody is stupid," the unnamed assistant told Yahoo! Sports. "He thinks everybody needs to come and just turn over their offense and let him shoot it anytime he wants. That's not how the league works."

Fredette was a scoring machine at BYU, averaging better than 22 points during each of his final two season, including 28.9 as a senior in 2010-11.  He’s struggled to find a place in the NBA, however, bouncing around three teams in four NBA seasons.

Yahoo’s source says his inability to flourish at the next level is about his attitude as much as his ability.

"He won't adjust his game for it," he said. "He'll tell you, 'This is what I did at BYU.' Well, BYU, that's a long time ago."

The Spurs signed Fredette to a one-year deal, but released him Oct. 21.
