Jimmer Fredette has found a new team.
The 30-year-old guard left the Warriors' summer league team after just two games to help minimize injury and contemplate playing overseas.
Fredette ultimately made the decision to sign with Greece's Panathinaikos BC, announcing his decision Monday on social media.
The contract with Panathinaikos, according to a report from Eurohoops, is for two years.
"I’m extremely excited to announce I’ll be playing in Athens, Greece next for @paobcgrbasketball club in the Euroleague and Greek league! Thank you to all of the great fans that have already welcomed me to the Panathinaikos family," he wrote on Instagram. "And I always appreciate the fans that have supported me throughout my career. This will be a new chapter in Our lives that we are ready to get started! Let’s go have a great season!
"See you soon."
This isn't Fredette's first stint overseas.
He returned to the NBA near the end of the 2018-19 season after spending multiple years in China with the Shanghai Sharks. However, Fredette struggled in six games with the Suns, scoring just 3.7 points on 27.6% shooting in 10.8 minutes per game. The team declined its option on him for 2019-20.
In his short time with the Warriors, he had 19 points in 41 minutes in the two games.
Fredette also has played in the NBA with the Kings (2011-14), Bulls (2014), Pelicans (2014-15) and Knicks (2016).
