How to watch Jayson Tatum tonight: Celtics vs. Knicks start time, TV channel, live stream image

A stretch of primetime games continues for Jayson Tatum and the Celtics on Thursday as they welcome the Knicks to TD Garden for the first time this season. Thursday's game, which is a marquee matchup during NBA Rivals Week, serves as an opportunity for Boston to snap a two-game skid.

When talking rivalries, it doesn't get much more historic than the Celtics and Knicks, who, as two of the NBA's charter franchises, first met over 75 years ago. Thursday marks the 487th regular-season meeting between the familiar foes.

Historically, Boston has been dominant against New York, a fact that also holds true in recent years. And while the two teams split the season series last year, the Celtics won the first meeting of the 2022-23 season, bringing Tatum's personal record against the Knicks to 13-4.

In his most recent outing, Tatum finished with 31 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists but committed seven turnovers as a shorthanded Celtics team dropped a three-point decision to the Heat to tip off rivals week. In the loss, Boston was without Malcolm Brogdon, Jaylen Brown, Al Horford and Marcus Smart.

New York just snapped a four-game skid with a two-point win over Cleveland on Tuesday. In the win, Julius Randle looked like an All-Star with 36 points and 13 rebounds for the game. He'll look to reprise his dominance to lead the Knicks to a much-needed road win.
