Two weeks after doing his part to lead the Celtics to the 2024 NBA championship, the 26-year-old is set to sign a record-breaking five-year supermax contract extension to remain with the franchise long-term, TNT Sports' Chris Haynes reported Monday.
While the move was expected, the news of Tatum's extension officially ensures Boston's championship core of Tatum, Finals MVP Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick White will remain with the franchise through at least the 2025-26 season.
