Playing for the Sixers may be one of the toughest assignments in the NBA this season. With a 12-43 record, Philadelphia is the second-worst team in the league.
While it's impossible to be happy with losing, newly-acquired big man JaVale McGee is ready to take it in stride. He's willing to stick around, too.

According to the Philadelphia Enquirer's Keith Pompey, McGee wants to play for the Sixers for the foreseeable future. It was expected that he would be bought out of his contract when he was traded to Philadelphia from the Nuggets.
"I don't want to get bought out," said McGee, according to Pompey. "That's not a positive thing. When you think about it, you don't get all of your money when you get bought out.
"So it doesn't make sense why someone would want to get bought out unless they are older - older and they want to go to a contender or something. I'm not that old. I just want to play basketball."
His contract is expensive — the Sixers are taking on the remainder of his $11.25 million salary this season and the $12 million he is owed next year — but the team at least appears willing to keep McGee around.
Head coach Brett Brown thinks that the situation will help both McGee and the team.
"As I shared with him, I would look at this as an opportunity to come in and reclaim some minutes and reclaim taking advantage of his birth gifts," Brown said, per the Enquirer. "He has physical skills and physical gifts that are very unique."
McGee only appeared in 17 games for the Nuggets this season, averaging 5.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.
