Say this about LeBron James: He can handle rejection well.
James had a dunk attempt denied by Nets big man Jarrett Allen in the first quarter Tuesday night, a play that lit up Brooklyn's Barclays Center and Allen's teammates.
James was willing to credit Allen, even after a Lakers loss.
"He's in his 20s (Allen is 20); I'm in my 30s (33, soon to be 34)," James said, per ESPN.com. "It takes me a little longer to get warmed up. But that's fine. I mean, you're a shot-blocker. You should, (if) you can, get a block. It happens. It's probably all over social media, so, that's cool."

James was right that "it happens," but it doesn't happen very much. Allen became just the eighth player to block a James dunk try during the King's NBA career, according to ESPN research. In all, James has been rejected at the rim nine times (Amare Stoudemire did it twice, per ESPN) in 1,850 dunk attempts.
James did throw down a two-hander later in the game. Allen was nowhere in the vicinity.
James came into the contest with 45 dunks in 30 games this season.
