James Harden injury update: Nets star sidelined with left knee hyperextension image

James Harden has been ruled out of Monday night's game against the Portland Trail Blazers, due to a left knee hyperextension, the team announced today in the official injury report,

What is James Harden's injury?

The Nets listed Harden's injury as a left knee hyperextension, however, they may be resting the nine-time All-Star on the second night of a back-to-back.

Harden played 44 minutes in Sunday's overtime win over the San Antonio Spurs.

How long will James Harden be out?

It's unclear if Harden will miss multiple games with the injury, with the Nets playing another back-to-back this week against the Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Kyrie Irving will be available for Tuesday's road game in Chicago, but will not be available to play at home against the Thunder due to his unvaccinated status.

Harden has been relatively durable this season, appearing in 34 of the Nets' 38 games this season, missing some time due to health and safety protocols.

In 36.9 minutes per game this season, he is averaging 22.4 points, 9.7 assists and 8.1 rebounds, on 41.7 percent from the field and 33.1 percent from the 3-point line.
