The Battle for New York is taking place on Wednesday, Nov. 9 when the Nets host the Knicks at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The Nets are off to a tumultuous start to the season, firing head coach Steve Nash and suspending star guard Kyrie Irving. Brooklyn said Irving would miss 'no less than five games' for his antisemitic stance to the media, and the organization has reportedly issued Irving a checklist to complete before he can return to action.

While it is unknown if Irving will be available against the Knicks, Kevin Durant will surely be on hand to try and lead the Nets past their in-city rival. Durant has been able to put the noise aside to start the season, averaging 31.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists over his first 10 games.

The Knicks will lean on their Big 3 of Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle and RJ Barrett to keep up with Durant, as the trio is all averaging over 18 points per game. Brunson has been as solid as can be in his first season with New York, averaging 19.3 points and 7.2 assists per game, while Barrett is beginning to turn it on after a slow start, going for 20-plus points in back-to-back games.
