It will be a battle of the bigs when Nikola Jokic and Rudy Gobert go head-to-head at Ball Arena in Denver.
The last time the sides met was on January 3rd in Minnesota and the Timberwolves came away with a 124-111 win. Anthony Edwards' 29-point outing was the difference.
Jokic is coming into this contest on the strength of a monster performance against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Serbian superstar dominated the contest with 36 points (13-of-14 shooting), 12 rebounds and 10 assists as the Nuggets were able to mitigate 44 points from Damian Lillard to win their seventh straight, 122-113.
Gobert has been listed as questionable in the team's injury report heading into the game. If he plays, the Timberwolves will be hoping for more than the five minutes of action he saw in their 126-125 loss to the Jazz at home.
Gobert was sidelined with "lingering groin soreness" and his defensive presence was sorely missed, as Utah's Walker Kessler went off for 20 points and 21 rebounds.
Edwards has been the danger man for Minnesota. The former 1st overall pick is averaging 25.4 points and 4.8 assists in his last five games.
Despite a number of injuries, Denver is sitting on top of the Western Conference (31-13), while the Timberwolves (22-23) will be hoping to hit .500 and build some winning momentum with a win.
