The Mavericks embarrassed the Suns in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals last season, routing Phoenix by 33 points at home to eliminate the No. 1 seed. The Suns got revenge in their first meeting with Dallas this season, completing a 22-point comeback with Damion Lee playing the role of an unlikely hero, burying a game-winning shot to sink the Mavericks.

Fast forward a month and a half later and Doncic and Booker are firmly planted in the MVP race with elite-level play. Doncic is averaging a league-leading 33.4 points to go with 8.6 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game. Booker has kept the Suns afloat through injuries, averaging 29.5 points, 5.9 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game.
