Determined to make the postseason, the Charlotte Hornets have made yet another trade to acquire shooting, adding Mo Williams and Troy Daniels in a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to the team. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports first reported the deal.

The Hornets originally added Gary Neal to solve their shooting woes and create space for big man Al Jefferson on the block. Their problems from the perimeter continued, however, as Neal faced injury and took on ballhandling duties because of the team's widespread health issues.
In return for the decision to move Neal and a second-round pick, the Hornets will receive a more comfortable ballhandler in Mo Williams, which became a priority due to injury issues for Kemba Walker and Brian Roberts. Long-term, the real prize is Daniels because he is deadly shooter from deep.
In discussing the reasoning behind the deal, Wojnarowski confirmed that the Hornets made the move to remain in the playoff race in the Eastern Conference. While he has faults, Williams is a veteran who can step in and get the Hornets into their offense and knock down open looks. They lack that at the moment.
Charlotte's determined to make playoffs. Williams gives them chance to bridge until Walker return -- and no longer play Stephenson at point.
