Will Goran Dragic be able to help the Heat stave off elimination Friday night against the Lakers?

The 34-year-old guard has not played in the 2020 NBA Finals since suffering a torn plantar fascia in the first half of Game 1. Miami got a much-needed boost from Bam Adebayo's return in Game 4, but with Los Angeles holding a 3-1 lead, the Heat could really use Dragic's combination of scoring and playmaking in the win-or-go-home contest.

Here's the latest news on Dragic ahead of Game 5:

Goran Dragic injury updates

UPDATE: Dragic will not be available for Game 5, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

ORIGINAL: Dragic is listed as doubtful for Game 5 on the most recent injury report, which was released at 2 p.m. ET on Friday. That is the same designation he was given for the previous three games in the series.

There was some hope Dragic could rejoin the rotation for Game 4 after he was seen warming up prior to tipoff, but video of the pregame workout showed Dragic struggling with lateral movements while defending Heat assistant coach Chris Quinn.

During his media availability on Monday, Dragic told reporters that he doesn't have a specific timetable on when he could return.

"I'm doing everything, what I can do. It does feel better than when it happened," Dragic said. "We'll see. I don't have a timetable yet. ... I'm dealing with a lot of pain, so that's the main concern. I don't want to be a liability there on the floor for my team. I want to be the best that I can be."

Team Player Status Reason
