One year after the Heat eliminated the Hawks in the first round of the 2022 NBA Playoffs, the two teams will face off in the 2023 Play-In Tournament.
This year's circumstances are a bit different for Miami, who finished with the best record in the East last season but will now need to qualify for the playoffs via the Play-In. This is familiar territory for Atlanta, however, as it defeated the Hornets and Cavaliers in last year's Play-In Tournament to secure a first-round matchup with the Heat.
This year, the winner of this contest will travel to Boston to take on the No. 2 seed Celtics in the first round.
Will Trae Young be able to shake off his consistent struggles against the Heat? Will we see the playoffs version of Jimmy Butler take over in the Play-In Game?
