The Gerald Green saga continues to develop.
The Heat guard was suspended this week for conduct detrimental to the team because of what was initially called a personal matter. According to the Miami Herald, the suspension stems from a Nov. 4 incident at Green's apartment building where police say the 6-8 forward punched a man.

For reasons unknown, Green showed up to his apartment building with bloody hands and asked the clerk to call paramedics before walking outside, where he collapsed. Green got back up and tried to go upstairs to his apartment, but was stopped by a Hispanic male who was trying to come to his aid, police said.
"Mr. Green tried to make his way up to his unit. When victim No. 1 tried to hold Mr. Green in the lobby area for fire rescue, Mr. Green punched the victim in the right eye,” Miami police Officer John Collins wrote in his report.
According to the police report, Green had to be restrained by fire rescue because he was being "combative" and was handcuffed. The man Green hit declined to press charges.
Green has missed the Heat’s last five games and will not play Thursday against the visiting Jazz. He’s expected to return to the team Friday.
"I just believe that we can (count on Green moving forward). I’ve been around this game for 48 years and he’s a really great kid, great athlete, can really shoot the ball," team president Pat Riley said, via the Herald. "He’s explosive and we’re going to need him, and I think he’s going to show that to us."
