The 2024 Olympics provided basketball fans in the United States a chance to do something so very few have the ability to — root for Stephen Curry.

The sharpshooter for the Warriors has terrorized NBA fan bases around the globe, but with the guard suiting up for his first Olympics, it gave everyone in the nation the ability to support Curry in the red, white and blue.

It was a fantastic experience for those who tuned in, as Curry was the driving force behind the offense that propelled the United States to a win over France in the gold medal game. The deep threat wowed in the fourth quarter, dropping shot after shot to pull the Americans away from the host country.

However, there are two sides to every coin. For as many Americans that were left ecstatic over Curry's exceptional shooting, there were plenty of French left stunned, watching their Olympic gold hopes shatter with every swish.

No one embodied that more than the French broadcast of the game. The pair on the mic could not believe what was unfolding in front of them as Curry went off for four 3-pointers in the final minutes, dragging the USA to victory.

French commentary of Stephen Curry's performance

Curry was certainly cooking in the fourth quarter. He dropped 14 of his 24 points in the final frame, ending any shot the French had in mounting a comeback.

While his heroics were praised on the American side, the French were not thrilled to see the four-time NBA champion go off in the fashion he did. It was a perfect summarization of Curry's performance with a gold medal on the line.

"This Devil named Curry is hurting us."

"Oh nooo, but nooooo, but noooooo."

"How is this possible?!"

"He got the hot hand, Steph Curry!"

Curry has been called a lot of things in his career. Chef Curry. The Baby-Faced Assassin. The greatest shooter of all time. "The Devil named Curry" is certainly a new one, but it's fitting considering what he did to France in the dying minutes of the final.
