Fat Joe vs. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving is the rap beef we never knew we needed — well, it's one we never expected, at least.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Fat Joe called out the Nets stars for not wanting the "pressure" and "media attention" associated with the Knicks. Durant and Irving each signed four-year deals with the Nets this past offseason following months of speculation about the two stars bringing the Knicks back to prominence.
NBA POWER RANKINGS: Bucks, Lakers look like title contenders
"They said, 'We want New York, but let's do the lesser of the drama. Let's go to Brooklyn,'" Fat Joe, a longtime Knicks fan, told SI. "They didn't want to stand there... They didn't want that smoke. They ain't want it. I'm telling you they ain't want it. They ain't wanna come to [Madison Square] Garden. Now you gotta answer for things."

Durant, who is expected to miss the entirety of his first season in Brooklyn after tearing his Achilles during the 2019 NBA Finals, brushed off the 49-year-old rapper's criticism, saying Fat Joe is "trying to sell that album."
Oh that’s just Joey crack trying to sell that album, go cop that family ties on December 6

It turns out KD was correct. Fat Joe took Durant's response and used it to promote "Family Ties." He also gave Durant credit for his incredible 2011 performance at Rucker Park.
It may not be all love between Fat Joe and the Nets at the moment, but when it comes to New York rivalries, what's love got to do with it?
