Dwyane Wade might have retired from playing basketball, but he could be covering it as a broadcaster soon.

The likely Hall of Fame guard is being recruited by ESPN and TNT as an analyst, according to a report from the New York Post, which cites unidentified sources.

The report states both networks are preparing to offer Wade a position on air later this postseason. He has served in the role before, but it's unclear whether Wade is interested in pursuing broadcasting full time, the report says.

“Everybody has their own vision, their own path of how or when they walk away from the game,” Wade said in February, via the Miami Herald. “But you can’t always control it. ... I personally never wanted to walk away from the game when I absolutely had nothing left. I wanted to walk away when I felt it was time for me to walk away.

“It doesn’t mean my talent is depleted 100 percent. That just means that there’s something else for me to do.”

The Heat lost two of their last three games and missed the playoffs in Wade's final season. He averaged 15 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 72 appearances.

Other former stars like Shaquille O'Neal, Charles Barkley and Paul Pierce have carved out roles for themselves as analysts after retiring, and Wade could be next.
