New Orleans Pelicans rookie Dyson Daniels exited Saturday night's NBA Summer League game against the Portland Trail Blazers after suffering an apparent ankle injury.

Daniels landed awkwardly as he attempted a layup midway through the second quarter. He stayed down on the baseline and was eventually helped to the locker room by his teammates.

Daniels, who was selected eighth overall by the Pelicans, exited the game with one point, one rebound, two assists and a steal in eight minutes.

ESPN's Dave McMenamin reports that Daniels suffered a right ankle sprain, with x-rays coming back negative.

The Blazers cruised to an 85-68 win in Las Vegas, behind 17 points, 11 rebounds and five assists from Trendon Watford. Trey Murphy III led the Pelicans with 23 points and eight rebounds.
